The Abu Garcia Max SX 2000 is a compact freshwater spinning reel for light-line lure and bait fishing. Its 5.2:1 gearing retrieves approximately 25 inches of line per handle turn, giving you a measured pace for small spinners, jigs and finesse plastics. The asymmetric graphite frame and rotor, V-Rotor and V-Spool keep the reel compact without requiring a large reel body for everyday use.

Freshwater or Saltwater?

Recommended use: Freshwater. Choose this reel for lakes, ponds and rivers. For routine saltwater, surf or heavy salt-spray exposure, choose a dedicated saltwater reel. Stainless steel bearings do not make a reel saltproof; avoid submersion and clean and dry the reel after use.

Best Applications & How to Use

  • A practical choice for trout, crappie, perch and finesse bass fishing with a suitably matched light or medium-light spinning rod.
  • Try small jigheads, inline spinners or light live-bait rigs. The moderate retrieve encourages a controlled pace; vary rod-tip movement rather than cranking faster to create every change in action.
  • Fill the spool evenly under light tension and avoid overfilling. Close the bail by hand after a cast and remove loose loops before retrieving.
  • Set the drag for the line, knots and rod you are using, below the weakest component’s limit. Listed maximum drag is a capability, not a recommended everyday setting.

Line capacity varies with actual line diameter. Recovery per turn changes as the amount of line on the spool changes. Rod and fishing line are selected separately.

Where do Products ship from?

As soon as we receive an order, it goes directly to our suppliers here in Florida and also in the US. This allows us to get the products shipped directly to you as quickly as possible. All of our suppliers are located in the United States.

We do our best to choose the most economical options for shipping of all of our products. For smaller items they typically will ship to you via USPS, unless otherwise requested. Other carriers may mean additional fees.

For larger items especially combos, rods, and trolling motors, these will ship to you through UPS or Fedex. Batteries and heavy items will also ship via UPS or FedEx.

Outside the United States we will choose the most economical route possible to get the item to you securly.

Orders are processed immediately in order to get the shipping initiated as quickly as possible. When we become aware of any delays or backorders we will reach out to the email you have provided on your order to make you aware of any issues with delivery.

If I need to return an item how does that work?

Returns and Refund Policy

  • You have 14 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
  • Items must be unopened and in the original packaging
  • Customer provides return shipping
  • 15% restocking fee for combos, rods, and other large items.
  • No final sale items

Once we receive your item, a refund is initiated immediately.
