Z-MAN CHATTERBAIT JACKHAMMER BABY JACK 1/4 OZ - GREEN PUMPKIN

Z‑Man Chatterbait JackHammer Baby Jack 1/4 oz – Green Pumpkin

Description:

The Green Pumpkin Baby Jack gives you the raw fish‑catching power of a classic bladed jig — vibration, flash, and snag‑resistant profile — but in a smaller, finesse‑ready package. Its downsized blade fires instantly, the rear‑weighted compact head holds true through cover, and the realistic green‑pumpkin finish makes it a stealthy, credible choice when bass are wary or pressured.

Specifications:

Model: JackHammer Baby Jack, 1/4 oz – Green Pumpkin

Blade: Downsized stainless‑steel ChatterBlade®, direct blade‑to‑head connection for instant vibration and blade‑to‑head collisions.

Head / Jighead: Compact, low‑center‑of‑gravity head with enlarged rear collar for improved balance and natural horizontal posture through the water.

Hook: Custom medium‑wire 3/0 DECOY hook — sharp and strong, designed to handle hard hooksets even with compact profile baits.

Trailer Keeper: Dual‑wire keeper on the shank to securely hold soft‑plastic trailers (craws, creature baits, swimbaits) through casts and battles.

Skirt: Premium, wire‑tied silicone skirt for durable action and natural movement.

Overall Action: Tight, high‑frequency vibration with subtler flash than full‑size chatterbaits — ideal for finesse applications, pressured fish, or clear water.

Who It’s Best For

Anglers fishing pressured lakes or clear-water fisheries where bass have become wary of bulky, noisy baits — the compact profile and subtle action of the Baby Jack makes it an excellent “stealth‑bait.”

Bass fishermen working around structure, wood, grass, docks, or other cover, where a weed‑deflecting head and low‑profile bait can get deeper and stay tight to cover without snagging.

Those who want versatility — run it bare for a streamlined bladed jig, or rig a soft‑plastic trailer for added bulk and trigger appeal. The double‑wire trailer keeper helps keep trailers locked in through casts and retrieves.

Anglers who appreciate a smaller, easier‑casting chatterbait that handles wind well, casts farther, and stays deep — handy for covering water or fishing shallow grass/shallow‑water structure.

How to Use It

Rig on a medium‑heavy casting rod and spool with 12–20 lb braid or fluorocarbon depending on cover and clarity.

Cast near or beyond structure — grass lines, submerged wood, docks, rock edges — then begin a steady retrieve. The downsized ChatterBlade immediately starts vibrating, sending tight thumps and flash to draw attention.

Use a moderate retrieve to maintain a consistent “chatter‑roll,” or slow-roll through cover to let the skirt flutter and the blade hit the head — effective when bass are spooky or cautious.

For added action, rig a soft‑plastic trailer (creature bait, swimbait, craw) on the dual‑wire keeper — this increases profile and often triggers more aggressive strikes, especially in heavy cover.

Ideal when fishing pressured or clear-water conditions, or during pre‑spawn / post‑spawn periods when bass are finicky — the “finesse‑with‑power” profile often produces bites when standard chatterbaits are ignored.

Why It Belongs in Your Tackle Box

The Green Pumpkin Baby Jack is a refined, compact alternative to full‑size chatterbaits — giving you the flash, vibration, and hook‑setting power of a bladed jig, but with a subtle presentation ideal for pressured fish, clear water, or heavy cover. Its balanced head design, downsized blade, premium hook/trailer setup and versatile rigging potential make it a go‑to lure when finesse matters but you still want serious fish‑catching punch.
